Unqork is a visual no-code platform designed to help large enterprises build complex custom software with ease. In direct partnership with Free Association, we co-created a robust design system from the ground up that could flex across a multi-pillar product team and eventually be used to shape and scale the new platform experience.
Together alongside a designated group of engineers, we built identical Figma and React-based component libraries that could empower internal users to do their best work — increasing impact and velocity while removing inconsistency and uncertainty.
As the Design Systems Lead at Unqork, my role was to then implement and govern this internal system, while continuously refining and advancing the library toward maturity. Working daily with the engineering team, we would design, build, test and evolve components and patterns in order to push the product experience forward.
More tactically, I would eventually rebuild the entire component library in order to take advantage of the latest Figma features (Variants, Auto-Layout), and to dramatically enhance the usability of the system for our team.
Beyond driving and maintaining the system itself, I also led the visual and interaction design across the platform — ensuring the product meets the level of craft expected from a $2B tech unicorn.
I would then go on to provide design support for the company on a freelance basis, in order to further assist with feature explorations, documentation and more complex components.
In partnership with the wonderful folks at Free Association and Unqork.
Special shoutout to the amazing Platform UI team who brought the system to life and never glossed over the finer details.
